The Faith of Our Fathers: Hope for the Future
By Rev. Fr. Servando L. Sentales, OSJ
Rector and Parish Priest
Greetings from the Archdiocesan Shrine and Parish of St. Joseph the Patriarch!
Ecce fidelis servus et prudens, quem constituit Dominus super familiam suam.
[Behold a faithful and wise servant, whom the Lord hath set over His household.]
Saint Joseph, our model of faithfulness, is a man who is not afraid of change. In this dynamic and ever-changing world, we are called to adapt to the changes around us, without deviating from the true message of the Gospel: faith, hope and charity.
With each year that unfolds, technology has found a way to make communication quicker and clearer. Now more than ever, the world is at our fingertips. With a click of a button and a tap on a screen, anything and everything is possible. One thing is certain, we are interconnected as well as interdependent with one another. This digital platform is a call to the faithful to share and live the faith online while imitating the faith, commitment and disposition of our beloved Saint Joseph.
The joint effort of the Parish Pastoral Committee headed by Bro. Emmanuel Munda, and of the Parish Finance Committee headed by Bro. Remberto Aba, as well the assistance of my confreres, Rev. Fr. Ronulfo Alkonga, OSJ, Rev. Fr. Leo Gonzales, OSJ and Rev. Fr. Jose Dumrique, OSJ, had all been indispensable in furthering the propagation of our Catholic faith beyond borders and in new horizons.
As we march ever onwards to the future, we do so bearing in mind our rich history. It is often said that a tree severed from its roots will not bear fruit. As such, the Archivo de San Jose de Malaquintubig which serves as the repository of our centuries-old books as well as the documents of our parish, and the Museo ni San Jose which houses the numerous curated images of St. Joseph, as well as articles of faith and remnants of our rich cultural and spiritual heritage, are proof of being deeply rooted and connected to our past.
Our Holy Father, Pope Francis, designated the year 2024 as a Year of Prayer, inviting us to a deeper and prayerful encounter with Christ in preparation for the 2025 Jubilee Year ‘Pilgrims of Hope. May this website serve as a medium and as a resource for evangelization as well as to encourage the people to go deeper in their commitment to pray and in their love of God.
Welcome to the official parish website! May Saint Joseph bless and guide us towards the path to Christ.
Ite ad Ioseph. Ite cum Ioseph.

Generations have evolved and changed over time. New trends and technology conquer the world and become a necessity for us in today’s world. Digitalization for instance, is the new platform that requires significant technological updates and willingness to accept that “the attachment to the past may prove to be a dangerous temptation” (Pope Francis, May 1, 2018). The Parish digitalization as an endeavor of the Archdiocesan Shrine and Parish of St. Joseph the Patriarch aims to enhance formation opportunities, in-depth our knowledge and appreciation of the Liturgy as a powerful tool for evangelization, and broaden our exposure to various forms of devotions, culture and traditions which shape the life of the faithful.
Loving and Serving
Through Technology
By Bro. Emmanuel Munda
Parish Pastoral Council Coordinator
“Sa ating pagmamahalan at paglilingkod sa kaninuman,
Tayo ay nagdadala ng balita ng kaligtasan”
The song Pananagutan is something many of us have heard of. For me, it encapsulates the mission of the Parish Pastoral Council: to love and to serve.
With the advent of technology, we are called upon to love and serve in new ways as technology is an inevitable part of our modern-day life. In this age of social media, we are called to remain true to the message of the Gospel without ignoring the realities of change in every aspect of our society.
As a powerful tool for evangelization and transformation, this website has the potential to enhance and develop the appreciation of the faithful, especially the youth, in matters of faith, culture, traditions and relevant events.
Among the many things technology teaches is that we are a part of a bigger world than just our community. We are part of a global community spanning countries and continents. In particular, our kababayans who are abroad yet remain attached to San Jose in faith and in culture, may share their experiences relevant to the faith through this medium.
With the help of the Parish Pastoral Council, the Parish Finance Council and the various ministries and religious groups, under the guidance of our beloved parish priest, Rev. Fr. Servando Sentales, OSJ and his brother-priests, the Archdiocesan Shrine and Parish of St. Joseph the Patriarch aims to reach all corners of the globe in its mission to proclaim the Gospel.
May this initiative inspire love and service for the Church, the community and the whole world!
Ite ad Ioseph. Ite cum Ioseph.

LOVE OF CHRIST
TO THE COMMUNITY
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
